Here are some of the celebrities who were guests at Fendi Fashion Week Fall 2022:

Actor Lucien Laviscount, the most recent addition to the “Emily in Paris” cast, and Evan Mock, of “Gossip Girl” fame, turned up to support the Italian brand, both dutifully excited.

“The desire to celebrate is back.”

So believes Silvia Venturini Fendi, as she reflected on the “dressing ceremony, which we’ve risked losing” given the lack of special moments in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Now she feels “this need had returned in full force.”

The collection she presented for fall was clearly aimed at meeting that need.

The looks were polished and blended dandy touches and feminine elements but were never too formal.

For example, traditional Vichy tweeds and houndstooth patterns were revisited, either scaled down or up.

Scissors have been working overtime in Milan this season, and miles of redundant skirt fabric have hit the cutting-room floor.

Even the perpetual romantic Alberta Ferretti caught the fever for shortening everything up to here.

She started with little shift dresses that had a distinct ’60s flavor, in colors like olive, buff, pale blue and silver, some woven through with strips of chiffon made to look like raffia.

She then showed a group of tiny chiffon, ruched and puckered formfitting pieces, which were part ’50s swimsuit, part dress.

Some of them came with minute flips of frill at the hem or with a matching pair of micro shorts, great clubwear for the cellulite-free under-25s.

Ferretti thought of her more mature bohemian customers as well, though, sending out sheer embroidered skirts to wear over the body dresses for a modicum of modesty.
